

Born in Iredell County on March 21, 1938, she was the daughter of the late L.D. Cash and Ella Blanche Smith Cash.
In 1956, Deane graduated from Troutman High School. Later she married Bobby Joe Brown, with whom she shared 53 years together. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2012.
Deane and Bobby lived in Greensboro for 42 years, before moving back to Statesville in 2003. She retired from Lucent Technologies after 41 years of service. Deane was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where she served as the church organist. She will always be remembered for being a loving mother who had a beautiful smile and touched everyone with her love and music.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Kellye Brown Proctor and William Ashton Proctor, Jr.; her brother and sister-in-law, Larry Donald Cash and Angie Cash; one step-grandson, William Ashton Proctor, III, and eight nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 742 Shiloh Rd, Statesville, NC 28677, with Rev. David Miner officiating. A private family graveside service will be held.
Everyone attending the service is asked to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. No formal visitation will be held.
