

She was born March 19, 1929, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Tracy and Lacie Marlowe Anderson. She retired from Celenese Industries in 1988 following 20 years of service, and had previously worked at McNeer-Dillon. She attended Union Chapel Baptist Church, enjoyed her flower gardens, and was especially happy outdoors in her straw hat and hoe working in her garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Swicegood; and two brothers, Ernest and Lonnie Anderson.
She is survived by a sister, Wilma Swicegood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Dorothy’s life will be held at 11:00 Thursday, May 21, 2015, in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. William Wease officiating. Entombment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
