

Edith is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Phillip N. Darty; niece, Carol Darty; and sons-in-law, Jimmie and Bernard.
Edith is survived by her husband, Thomas Summers; children, Anthony Darty, Thomas K. Summers, Karen Williams-Parker, Veronica (Carl) Williams, and Requal Murdock; grandchildren, Satyra Summers, Brian Williams, Gregory Bessant, Tyric Ramseur, Larry Ramseur Jr., Deshawn Gray, and Ayanna Darty; great-grandchildren, Kennedy A. Ramseur, Kennedy M. Ramseur, Jordan Summers, Nyra Jones, Jakalen Bessant, Jalil Bessant, Chene Bessant, Briann Williams, Rian Williams, Makari Darty, Serenity Gray, Armauni Gray, and Kyler Spencer; great-great-grandson, Karlo Bessant; special niece, Elaine Darty; and many family and friends.
Edith retired from RHA Health Services of Statesville after 15 years. She enjoyed traveling, thrift shopping, spending time with family, but most of all, working in her yard, and planting flowers. Edith was a graduate of Unity High School.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 1-2 pm at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Belmont Cemetery.
