Edward "Eddie" Lee Knox Sr.

Born February 28, 1942 in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Willie Lee Knox and Blanche Lewis Davis, who survives. Mr. Knox was a carpenter by trade.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andis "BoBo" Knox.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Blanche Davis; his children, Perry (Barbara) Knox, Eddie (Wanda) Knox, Jr., Gary Gibbs, Jerry Stacy Knox, Frances Knox Houston, Freida (Burley) Hunter, and Eddie Phillips, all of Statesville; fourteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include William Henry Knox of Charlotte, Allen "Bull" Morrison of Statesville, Wade (Rachel) Knox of Statesville, Jack Davis of Washington, George Knox, Maxine Bond and Ann (Joe) Houpe of Statesville, and a host of nephews and nieces.

The family will speak to friends from 12:30 PM -1:00 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Statesville Covenant Cathedral on Wilson Lee Blvd, Statesville, with the Funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM with Bishop Sam Thomas officiating. Burial will be held at Belmont Cemetery.
