Edward Dean Little

Born July 15, 1926 in Ashe County, he was the son of the late Jesse A. Little and Vesta Goodman Little. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Flossie Warren Little and his second wife, Katie M. Little; two sisters, Nellie L. Warren and Julia L. Robinette and a son-in-law, William Davis Comer.

Mr. Little worked and retired as a brick mason and was an active member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and his bird dogs.

He served in the United States Navy during WWII.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Joe T. Little and Linda of Statesville; his daughter, Jennie L. Comer of Greensboro; one sister, Betty L. Morton and husband Jerry of Statesville; three grandchildren, Melody C. Hamlet and husband Craig, Laura L. Brookshire and husband Brad, and Melissa L. Lowder and husband Brian and six great-grandchildren, Matthew Hamlet, Natalie Hamlet, Thomas Hamlet, Jeb Brookshire, Faith Brookshire and Jesse Lowder.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, March 23, 2014 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM - Monday, March 24, 2014 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Charles Cook officiating.
