

Edwin Bern Lytton, 79, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at his residence. Born July 13, 1935, in Statesville, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Bonnie Faye Lytton. Bern worked for Dixie Jeep Eagle as a mechanic for over 20 years. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Air Force. He loved hunting and fishing and being with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Douglas Lytton and two brothers-in-law, Boyce Pope and Jim Dellinger. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Roger Lynn Lytton and Edwin Dana Lytton (Pam); his daughters, Jill Evelyn Lytton and Terri Lytton Cook; grandchildren, Cliff Cook, Cheryl Galliher Twigger (Chad) and John Carlton Galliher (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Jacob Colton Cook and John Finnigan Twigger; two sisters, Cathy Raymer (Wayne) and June Pope; the mother of his children, Evelyn M. Lytton; nine nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends this evening (Thursday, Sept. 11), from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, with the Rev. J.C. Parks officiating.
