Elizabeth "Libby" Ann Noel Williams

She was born May 26, 1930, in Big Stone Gap, VA, and was the daughter of the late James Roy and Zella Gilliam Noel. She was an active member of Broad Street United Methodist Church since 1969 where she had been a member of the United Methodist Women and the Primetimers. She graduated from Miami-Dade Community College and worked with her husband in the family dairy business.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Benton “Ben” Williams, whom she married on December 30, 1949; a sister, Penny Hill; and a brother, Jim Roy Noel.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Charles) Graybeal of Oakton, VA, and Jennifer (Richard) Colgate of Durham; a son, James B. “Jimmy” (Pam) Williams of Hickory; six grandchildren, Mark Graybeal, Margaret Graybeal, Elizabeth Guthrie, Jonathan Guthrie, Katie (Chris) Bestwick, and Benjamin Williams; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Bestwick; and a sister, Geraldine Oldashi of Franklin, TN.

Memorial service celebrating Libby’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 22, 2015, at Broad Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Michael Gehring officiating.

The family will greet friends in the church fellowship hall on Friday immediately following the service.
