

Mr. Franklin White, Jr., affectionately known as “Ebb” to family and friends, son of the late Franklin Sylvester and Dequilla Jane Davidson White, was born in Iredell County on August 17, 1947. Mr. White departed this earthly life on October 23, 2025 at his home.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilson Davidson, David James White and Terry Allen White; three sisters, Slyvia Jean Morrison, Deborah Denise White Overby and Teresa Vonne White Rankin; and nephew Terry White, Jr.
He was a graduate of Morningside High School. He formerly worked with Southern Fasteners in Statesville, North Carolina until its closing. Later he was employed with The City of Statesville and Penske Racing, until his retirement from both. Working with Penske was more of a hobby than a job due to the joy associated with his employment there. He truly enjoyed working with Penske, and he also loved and respected the people he worked with.
He was a member of Holsey Memorial C.M.E. Church in Statesville, North Carolina where he served on the Steward Board serving as chairperson of the Board for many years; Usher; Ministry to Men (Formerly Methodist Men) at the Local and District levels; member of the Lay Council; and he also formerly served as a Trustee. In addition, he faithfully attended Sunday School each Sunday prior to Sunday service.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his wife of 52 years, Adell Donaldson White of the home; two children, Enid White and Franklin White III of Statesville; two sisters Agnes Jane Imes and Dorothy Louise White of Statesville; a sister-in-law, Pauline White of Statesville; a brother-in-law, John Robert Rankin of Statesville; nieces; Leslie Imes, Natera Overby, Latoya Overby, Melissa Morrison, Tomeka Leach, Dafanie Alleyne, Flicsha Sharpe, Keisha White, Aleisha Rankin, Schquall Rankin; nephews; Sly Imes, Tory Imes, Steven Morrison, Scott Holland,Torie Sharpe, Jerell Rankin; special grandchildren, Titus Summers, Jr., Jasiah Marion and Caiyir Jones; godson Daniel Scott Miller; special friends Reverend Barbara McCollum, Robert Gordie Jr., Chandler and Peggy Bryan, Joyce Kearns, Roger White, Gary Brooks and a host of cousins, family and friends.
The family of Mr. Franklin White, Jr. extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Harlan Hicks, Dr. Willie Whitaker, Dr. William Newton, The Statesville Dialysis Center, Trinetta Setzer, Josephine Miller, Joan Daniels, Marilyn Scott and the Holsey Memorial C.M.E. church family.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Holsey Memorial CME Church in Statesville. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Barbara McCollum officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
