Hazel M. Davis

Mrs. Hazel Matthews Davis, 81, of Statesville and formerly of Raleigh, died December 16th at Autumn Care of Statesville, She was born in Danville, Va. on April 16, 1929. She was the former office manager of J. Frederick Davis Engineering, Inc. of Raleigh. She was a member of Edenton Methodist Church in Raleigh and was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and the business and loved staying at her condo in Atlantic Beach. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. J. Fred Davis, II in 1997, and a brother, Sidney Matthews, M.D.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Matthews Davis of Franklin, Va. and James Frederick Davis, III of Charlotte, two daughters, Dr. Florence Elizabeth Davis and her husband, Dr. Rocco Tritico of Bermuda Run, N.C. and Mrs. Margaret Ann Argo and her husband, Michael of San Diego, Calif. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis will be removed from Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville to the Wright Funeral Home in Franklin, Va. on Saturday. Services will be arranged for Monday through Wright Funeral Home with burial in the Wester-Davis Family Cemetery in Southampton County, Va.
