Hazel St. John Smoot

She was born July 17, 1925 in Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late Steve and Flossie Privette St. John.

Mrs. Smoot was married to Nathan Neely Smoot, Jr. who preceded her in death in April of 1990.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Sandy Smoot.

Mrs. Smoot had been employed at Flex Knit Industries for 20 years.

Surviving is one son: Stephen Smoot (Beth) of Taylorsville, one sister: Iris Ostwalt of Troutman, six grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Don Horton officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the Funeral Home.
