

Born January 6, 1929 in Iredell County, he was the first born son of the late William Lundy Billings and Mary Lou “Neta” White Billings.
Mr. Billings worked for many years and retired from Bartlet Milling Company just a few days before his 77th birthday. He attended Shiloh United Methodist Church faithfully as his health permitted him to do so.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Estol Billings, Clint Billings, and Harold Billings; one infant sister, Cleo Mae Billings; one infant niece, Connie Denise Millsaps and one nephew, Russell Douglas Millsaps. His loving wife, Wilma Breece Billings, whom he married on October 29, 1955, also preceded him in death on June 18, 2012.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister and brother-in-law, Reola and Douglas Millsaps, of Statesville; one sister-in-law, Josephine Billings; nephews, Dwayne Millsaps (Paula), Wayne(Tracy) Millsaps, Albert Billings, and Allen (Sue) Breece; and nieces, Sheila (Brandon) Burdett, Wanda (Frank) Whiting and Donna (David) Brown.
The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. A funeral service will follow in the Westmoreland Chapel at 11:00 with Rev. Matt Emory officiating. Mr. Billings will be laid to rest beside his wife at Oakwood Cemetery.
