James is the son of the late Charles Gandy and Catherine Baca.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Vickie Roberts Gandy of Statesville, 2 daughters; Mary Hauto (Gabriel) of Goose Creek, SC, Malinda Addington (Larry) of Texas, 3 sons; CSM James T. Gandy (Dawn) of Goose Creek, SC, Michael A. Gandy (Lori) of Statesville, NC, and Charles "Chris" Gandy of Statesville, NC, 15 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
James was a honored 24 year retired veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of The New Beginning Pentecostal Holiness Church, and loved to spend time with his large family.
A public visitation will be held at The New Beginning Pentecostal Holiness Church on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 2-3 pm, followed by a 3 pm Funeral Service with Military Honors. Rev. Timothy Fluke is officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center, 1601 Brenner Ave., Salisbury, NC 28144.
