Mrs. Jeanette McNeely McCoy

Mrs. Jeanette McNeely McCoy, 82, of 1029 Triplett Rd. Cleveland, died Tuesday evening at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Born in Iredell County on January 11, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence L. McNeely and Sarah Caroline (Sallie) Lambert McNeely. She was retired from Rubbermaid and was a lifelong, active member of Knox Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed cooking and holidays with her familly.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Lee McCoy, a daughter, Kimberly Dawn McCoy, a sister, Hilda McNeely, and brothers, Robert M. (Mack) McNeely and L. C. McNeely.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harry Z. McCoy, whom she married on March 30, 1946; a son, Dale McCoy and his wife, Vickie, of Cleveland, a daughter, Marlene M. Pethel and her husband, Lane of Woodbridge, Va., and grandchildren: Joshua Beaver (Carla), Cary Jacobson (Matt), Brooke Beaver, Bradley McCoy, Jennifer Novoa and Melissa Pethel. Also surviving are great grandchildren: Hannah, Gage and Brady Beaver, and Logan and Gibson Scearce along with her sister, Mrs. Nell M. Sherrill. Additional survivors include her sisters-in-law: Dorothy McNeely, Freda McNeely and Vivian M. Christy and a brother-in-law, Phillip McCoy (Carolyn).

Services celebrating Mrs. McCoy's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Knox Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Kevin Tesh officiating. She will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will assemble at the residence of the deceased and will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
