

Mrs. JoAnn Henderson Holbrook, 77, of Harmony, passed away Christmas morning with her children by her side at the Gordon Hospice House. Born November 16, 1935 in Iredell County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Franklin Henderson and Nora Hester Rash Henderson. She was retired from Rosewood Rest Home where she lived out her passion for caring for the elderly and did so for over 20 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, John A. Holbrook and her son, Albert. Also preceding her in death were her brothers: Cletus, John, Bristol, Paul and Frank Henderson and sisters: Gladys Gregory and Betty Cranfill and her loyal companions Blackie and Puppy.
Survivors include a son, Keith Holbrook (Vonnie), a daughter, Wanda Furches (Bill), granddaughters: Addie Hightower(Brian), and Emily Caviness (Matthew), and great grandchildren Charlie Hightower, Braxton and Kinsley Ann Caviness and grand puppy Sammie. Also surviving are her sisters, Fern Barnett and Lucille Stroud (Kenneth).
Services celebrating JoAnn's life will be conducted at 11:00 Friday at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Cliff Gwaltney and Rev. Bobby Henderson officiating. She will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Matthew Caviness, Brian Hightower, Howard Henderson, Gage Henderson, Roger Barnette, Dicky Meyers, Brad and Craig Thompson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. Thursday evening at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to the family at www.bunchjohnsonfuneralhome.com.
