So sorry to hear this news. I was just sharing memories of John a few days ago. John and I worked together at Hunt Mfg. Co for several years. Occasionally I would see John at some store or restaurant and he still had that deep Scottish accent, which after conversing with him would always have me asking myself: "what the .... did he say". I say all this in respect to all. My prayer to family and friends is: Peace & Love.

My heart goes out to Grant and Jean. John and Jean were very kind to me in a difficult time in my life. I will never forget his kindness.

My heart is with Grant, Jean and the rest of the family! John was always so kind and caring and I will never forget his warm smile! He had such a great sense of humor and I will never forget him ribbing me about almost burning my apartment down while trying to make corn bread for the Thanksgiving we spent at Grant’s apartment in Charlotte!

I worked with John for many years at Hunt Manufacturing. I was in the Marketing Department in Philadelphia. With the few exceptions of Fire, Hurricanes, Power Failures and Equipment Failure; nothing could keep a Chief Engineer in Statesville awake at night like a "Philadelphia Marketing Department". Despite these traditional speed bumps, I respected John, and admired him, and all who worked with him. He carried an affable dignity, and engineering skill, with that classic Stoic Scottish demeanor. We all though the world of him. My deepest condolences to his family.
