He was born on April 3, 1934, in Fall River, Massachusetts, to William Greenwood and Mildred Simpson Hodgkinson.
John retired as a Commander from the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Betty Wedderburn.
John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ann Hodgkinson; children, Gregory Hodgkinson, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Hodgkinson, of Laurel, Maryland, and Merrilynne Henderson, of Statesville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Neil, Amanda, Daniel, and David Hodgkinson, and Jessica Cunningham; and great grandchildren, Haley and Elias Cunningham.
Services for Mr. Hodgkinson will be held at a later date.
