Joyce Ann Hicks Cook

Being born in 1944 in Fairmont, West Virginia, she moved with family to Charlotte in 1960. While taking cooking classes at CPCC in the 1970’s, she found her calling and subsequently spent many years in the hospitality industry in various capacities. Her deft touch in the kitchen will be missed by friends and family alike.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John B. Hicks, Jr. and Eleanor Douglass Hicks. She was also predeceased in September 2014 by her life partner, Angelo Hondros, with whom she shared nearly 50 years.

Left to cherish her memory is her brother, John Hicks of Charlotte and those she befriended.

A memorial service for Joyce will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2015, in the chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home which is handling the arrangements. She will be interred in West Virginia at a later date.
