June Marie Boyd Hines

June Marie Boyd Hines, 86, formerly of Statesville, died Monday, August 11, 2014 at Rosewood Rest Home in Harmony. Born in Danville, Va. on December 25, 1927, she was a daughter of the late John Willard Boyd and Marie Perry Boyd. June was a retired head teller from the former First Union Bank and formerly an active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was also a former Pink Lady Volunteer at Iredell Memorial Hospital and in the 1980's a member of ABWA. She enjoyed also helping with Meals On Wheels.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Hines, a son, Roger Steven Cowan and a step-son, Jack Hines.

Survivors include a daughter, Laura Harris Baker of Statesville, grandchildren: Brandi Baker, Stephanie Cowan, Laura Pieper (John), Amy Morgan, Michael Hines, Steven Hines, Travis Riddick and Jesse Riddick, great grandchildren: Brycyn Baker, Shelby Pieper and Matt Pieper, step-children: Mike Hines and Ginger Meadows. Also surviving is a brother, Jack Boyd of California.

Services celebrating June's life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday August 16th at the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Gervase Hitch and Rev. Danny Leonard officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 Saturday prior to the service. Entombment will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens.
