

Born June 23, 1934 in Gaston County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Everette and Annabelle Self Carpenter. Ken graduated from Cherryville High school and continued his education at Gaston College where he completed some courses. He retired from Fleetwood Homes Manufacturing plant in Mooresville where he was part of the management team including sales, service and quality control. He loved all antiques especially old cars. He loved to play and watch golf along with the Carolina Panthers.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sister, Glenda Wells.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 35 years, Pamela McNeely Carpenter; daughters, Vickie (Mike) Ewing, Kathy Carpenter; step-son, Steve (Noelle) Hoover, grandchildren, Amanda Sain, Matt Ewing Kailyn and Aubrie Hoover; great-grandchild, Sasha Sain; brother, Charles (Gloria) Carpenter; brother-in-law, Rodney (Carolyn) McNeely and many other loving family members.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 1pm in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson. Burial will be private at Oakwood cemetery.
