She graduated from Shelby High School in 1965 and later earned her master’s degree in library education from UNC-Greensboro. She was retired from the Iredell-Statesville school system, having worked as a librarian. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her cousins, Clinton Green, of Statesville, and Sylvia Green Davis, of Alcoa, TN.
A graveside service for Ms. Green will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., at Oakwood Cemetery, with Pastor Dr. Nelson Granade officiating.
