

God gave Makenzie to parents Brian and Angie Shaw and sister Madison Shaw of Statesville on September 10th 1999. Makenzie lived life to its fullest in her short 14 years. Makenzie attended Northview Elementary and Cloverleaf Elementary and was most recently homebound through Statesville Middle School. Makenzie had a great love for people and often used social media to make the day of her many Facebook friends. Some of Makenzie’s favorite things were puzzles, candy crush, outings, spending time with her “besties,” her dog Bandit, and most of all Makenzie loved Jesus.
She is survived by her parents, Brian and Angie Shaw; sister Madison Shaw; Grandparents Alan and Carol Jones and Kent and Debbie Shaw; a Great Grandmother, Evelyn Broome, Aunts and Uncles, Sarah and Brandon Rachels, Laura and Shane Harris, Chris and Stephanie Shaw, Wesley and Tresa Shaw; Cousins, Kelsey Jones, Lucas Rachels, Noah Shaw, Silas Shaw, Isaac Shaw, E.J. Shaw, Andi Hall, and Carmen Shaw; and special nurses Barbara Helms and Shana Noble.
The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Westwood Baptist Church in Statesville with the Rev. Mike Hyde officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00-2:00 at Westwood Baptist Church prior to the service.
