She was born Nov. 10, 1923, in Iredell County, and was the daughter of the late Lamber A. Campbell and Carrie Lambert Campbell. In earlier years, she was employed at N.B. Mills Elementary School and Bunton Dowel Works. Mrs. Bunton was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Roy Lincoln Bunton; an infant son, Lonnie Andrew; daughter, Linda Rose Moore; grandson, Thomas Rose; three brothers, Alex Campbell, John Campbell and Harvey Lee Campbell; and three sisters, Minda Beckham, Bessie Scott and Mary Teague.
She is survived by a son, Ray Bunton (Helen); three grandchildren, Jay Bunton (Dana), Doug Rose (Shannon), Carrie Allen (Russel) and Angela Rose (Thomas); 11 great-grandchildren, Seth Bunton, David Lee, Jonathan and Annabeth Rose, Emma Rae, Elijah, Levi, Luke and William Allen, and Lincoln and Elizabeth Rose.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Chris Thompson officiating. Pallbearers will be Jay Bunton, Doug Rose, Lincoln Rose, Russell Allen, Elijah Allen and Randy Beckham. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow the service at South River Baptist Church Cemetery.
