Born in McDowell County, West Virginia on April 9, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Ellis Lee McCoy and Jenny Burks McCoy.
In 1968 she married Robert Leroy Kauffman, Sr. who preceded her in death on June 30, 2011. In addition to her parents an husband, she was also preceded by several siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two brothers, Johnny McCoy and Sonny McCoy and one sister, Charlotte Smith; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina.
