

Mrs. Margie Mae Walker Brown Hollars, 85, of 159 Deerfield Lane, North Wilkesboro, died Friday June 11th at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. Born in Wilkes County on March 11, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Harvey Andrew Walker and Lottie Privette Walker. She was a homemaker and caregiver and a member of East Side Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Ernest, Tracy, Marvin, and Rev. Dempsey Walker and sisters, Mary Walker Patterson and Ruth Walker Mullis. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Mr. G. Gordon Brown.
On April 9, 1968 she married Mr. Joe Hollars who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Judy Brown of Concord and Mrs. Sandra Owens of Charlotte. Additional survivors include grandchildren: Noel Hill and her husband, Tracy and Todd Owens and his wife, Kimberly and great grandchildren: Blaine Hill, Emily Hill, Greyson Owens, Hayden Owens and Cooper Owens. She is also survived by her brother, Rev. Coy Walker of Taylorsville.
Services celebrating Mary's life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Monday at East Side Baptist Church with Rev. John Parks and Rev. Coy Walker officiating. She will lie in state at the church prior to the service and burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be assembled at the residence of the deceased and will receive friends Sunday evening at East Side Baptist Church from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be: David Patterson, Blaine Hill, Barry Mullis, Greyson Owens, Dale Patterson, Tracy Hill and Todd Owens.
