

She was born June 18, 1931, in Iredell County, and was the daughter of the late John Albert and Jane Ellis Eidson. She formerly worked as a nurse’s aide at Brian Center and was a homemaker who was devoted to her family. She was a former member of West Corinth Baptist Church in Mooresville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on June 17, 1988, by her husband, Eddie Coleman Long, whom she married on February 7, 1954; and a sister, Edna Coleman.
Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Doris Jane Franklin (William) of Stony Point and Laura Williams (Billy) of Mt. Ulla; three grandchildren, Amanda Allen, Joshua Williams (Natasha) of Mooresville, and Cassidy Holland (Michael) of Statesville; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Williams and Mirabel Holland; three sisters, Dorothy Poole of Florida, Lois Eudy of Statesville, and Melda Bittorf of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Albert “Sonny” Eidson (Becky) of Winston-Salem and Allen Eidson (Betty) of Texas; and two sisters-in-law, Carole Gantt (J.D.) of Statesville and Sandra Griffith of Huntersville.
Funeral services celebrating Marjorie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Suttles officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
