

Mary Louise Bowling, 57, of Wallace, N.C., and formerly of Wilmington , died Monday, June 23rd at Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C. Born in Welch, W. Va. on February 20, 1957, she was a daughter of the late William Ryder Bowling and Betty Sue England Bowling who survives and is of Whitsett, N.C. Mary was a member of All Souls Episcopal Church. She was very involved in American Indian culture, made jewelry and was a great cook. She dearly loved her family and was full of spirit. She had been a chef and a convenience store manager during her working career. In addition to her father, she was preceeded in death by a step son, Rocky Wilson.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Crystal Heye of Statesville, her companion of 23 years, Austin Wilson, a step daughter, Tracey Wilson and grandchildren: Madison Alexander Heye, Daniel Kane Harris and Violet Kristen. Also surviving are sisters: Carol Weed of Sherrills Ford, N.C., Vickie Amessa of Lincolnton, N.C., Millie Bowling of Liberty, N.C. and Dianna Bowling of Mooresville, N.C.
Services celebrating Mary's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Statesville with Rev. Nan Chandler officiating. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
