Mary Redmond Cloaninger

Mary Redmond Cloaninger, 94 of Statesville passed away on March 11, 2016. Born on March 16, 1921 to the late Roger and Mittie Redmond, Mary has been a lifelong resident of Iredell County. Mary was a school teacher at Celeste Henkel Elementary School and was employed by the Iredell County School system for 30 years. She also was V.P. of Franco Distributors Inc. in Statesville and a member of Front Street Baptist Church in Statesville.

Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Troy Frank Cloaninger, Sr. in 2008; her three sisters, Bryd Summers, Ruby Shumaker and Ruth Redmond and her brother, Howell Redmond. She is survived by her son, Troy Frank Cloaninger, Jr and his wife Jan of Statesville; her granddaughter, Mindy Ostwalt and her husband Mark of Statesville and her three great grandchildren, Morgan, Troy and Mary Sells.

A graveside service will be held on Monday March 14, 2016 at 11am at Iredell Memorial Gardens, Statesville. The family is asking that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County in Mary’s memory.
