Mary Helen Upright Holton

She was born in Iredell County on June 8, 1936 and was the daughter of the late James Alexander and Lucille Sipes Upright. Mrs. Holton was a Registered Nurse having graduated from Davis Hospital School of Nursing. She had worked as a Register Nurse at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, Medical Park Hospital, where she did most of her nursing and Forsyth Medical Center. She loved birds and light houses and loved to make quilts , knit and crochet.

She loved her two grandsons very much.

She was married to Gerald Homer Holton who preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Holton is survived by a daughter: Susan Miller ("Mike") of Harmony, two grandsons: James Gerald Miller and Nathan Clyde Miller both of Harmony and two brothers: Sam Upright of Cleveland and Charlie Upright (Marietta) of Cleveland.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother: Carl Upright. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Jeune officiating. The family will speak with friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens in Clemmons, N.C.
