BATON ROUGE, LA. Mrs. Mary L. Howle, 96, formerly of Statesville, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, in Baton Rouge, La., where she lived for 13 1/2 years. Prior to moving to Louisiana, she was a long standing member of Broad Street United Methodist Church in Statesville.
Born May 16, 1922, in Johnston, S.C., she was the daughter of the late William H. and Janie C. Lott. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Arthur H. Howle Sr., and her five brothers and one sister. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Marianne (Greg) Beck, Michael (Kim) Howle and Arthur (Linda) Howle Jr.; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Howle was a special education teacher, avid reader of mysteries, especially Agatha Christie mysteries, and an amateur artist, having painted ceramics, folk art and many pictures while residing at Lake Sherwood Village in Baton Rouge.
No formal services will be held and she will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville beside her husband. Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Howle Family.
