Mava "Bebe" Brookshire Durham

Mava “Bebe” Brookshire Durham, 81, of Greensboro and formerly of Statesville, passed away on July 19, 2018 at her residence. A native of Hamilton County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Dallas Clemmons Rogers and Willa Dale Breashear Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Brookshire and two sons, Billy Wood and Jack Wood, Jr. She was a member of the Greensboro Moose Lodge where she loved to play Blitz. She enjoyed following sports and watching her grandchildren play sports. She loved visiting with her family and friends and, particularly, talking to her children at least three times a day.

She is survived by her children: John Wood (Shannon) of Statesville, Britt Brookshire (Amy) of Statesville, Kelly Brookshire Williamson (Rob) of Mt. Airy, NC, and Brooke Holliday (Jay) of Fairview, NC. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Robin Wood of Wake Forest, NC; by a brother, Buddy Rogers (Christy) and sister, Sheila B. Rogers. Her grandchildren, John Riggs, Christopher, Taylor, Lauren, Jessica, Gentry, Sadie, Hailey, Jay and Bella and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Ava, also survive her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville from 10:00 until 11:00 AM and a funeral service celebrating “Bebe’s” life will be held at 11:00 AM in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Asheville at approximately 3:00 PM.
