STATESVILLE- Mrs. Nada M. Wellman, went home to be with her Lord and family on July 12, 2018 with her family by her side.
Born on November 15, 1953 in Alexander County, she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Emma Barker Mauney. Nada was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, neice and friend. She was a lifelong member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church where she served many roles. She graduated from Mitchell Community College with an Associate degree in Industrial Management. Through her studies at the Culinary Art Institute, she became a Chef. Nada's love of cooking was shared through catering, and dinners with family and friends. With her husband, she owned and operated a gourmet culinary cooking store. Nada had many human resource roles and at the time of her passing she was Human Resource Manager at US Chemical Storage in North Wilkesboro. She served on the Iredell Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, was former Chairperson of the Carolina Dogwood Festival, a member of the Balloon Rally planning committee and held numerous other community roles. Her hobbies were crafting, decorating, collecting cookbooks, helping and raising dogs.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a special nephew, Bill Jr.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 43 years, Robert Wellman; son, Dustin Wellman; brother, Wayne (Francine) Mauney; sister, Sharon Ann (Jerry) Ellis; special nieces, Nicole "Nikki", Michelle "Shell”, Angie and Leslie; special nephews, Mark, Darren, Foy Jr. and Brian; fur babies, Abby, Zoe and Sophie and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of Nada's life will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 12pm at Philadelphia UMC with Rev. Kristy Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm at the church prior to the service.
