Oscar H. McCabe, Jr., 89, of Statesville, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House. Oscar was born on May 26, 1934, to the late Oscar Sr. and Rose Fuller McCabe, in Salamanca, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence McCabe (Hazel), Roy McCabe, Lyle McCabe, and Paul McCabe (Joyce); and sisters, Esther McCabe Purdy (Roger), Ethel McCabe Gradler (William), and Mona McCabe Brower (Richard).
Oscar is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Reiser McCabe; sons, Michael McCabe (Margaret), and Eugene McCabe (Wendy); grandchildren, Brandi Porcelli (Anthony), Kristin McCabe (Alison), Lacey Barnicle, Todd McCabe, and Sarah McCabe; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Violet McCabe Buffum; sister-in-law, Rosemary Reiser Cutuli (Leonard); and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Troutman First United Methodist Church, beginning at 1 pm, with Rev. Jeffrey Hamrick officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Oscar's honor to Troutman First United Methodist Church.
