Peggy Gabriel Bowles

She a native of Catawba County, born February 27, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Wade A. and Mattie Robinson Gabriel.

Mrs. Bowles was twice married, first to John White who died December of 1977 and second to Alfred Bowles who died February 28, 2013. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one sister: Ruth Little, six brothers: Jim, Elmer, Marshall, Cecil, Dan and Henry Clay Gabriel.

To cherish her memories are a niece she called her daughter: Judy Gabriel (Archie), a number of nieces and nephews, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. Step children are: Carla Upright, Vaughn Bowles, two grandchildren: Ryan Jones and Jessica Gasper, sister and brother in-law: Nancy and Roy Bowles, and sister-in-law: Vona Gabriel.

Peggy's working years were spent at Burlington Industries in Mooresville. Aunt Peg was a beautiful woman inside and out. Loved her family and old friends and loved meeting new ones and all who met her loved her. She loved all kinds of flowers and having a big garden from which to can and freeze. Most importantly was planting enough to give away to those that did not have fresh vegetables

Aunt Peg let you know right off where she stood with The Lord. Even in her last three weeks of sickness she would tell all who came by the hospital, "it's all in the Lords hands if I get better, but I will be a winner either way".

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held Wednesday at two p.m. at Lighthouse Independent Methodist Church with the Pastor Mike Kilpatrick and Rev. Bill Pharr officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Mooresville.

There will be no formal visitation.
