Peggy Reavis Compton

Mrs. Peggy Reavis Compton, 69, of 102 Brandywine Dr., Conover, N.C., died Monday July 9, 2012 at Catawba Valley Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born in Iredell County on November 9, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Charles Arthur Reavis and Flossie Brown Reavis. On June 29, 1979, she married Mr. John (Tom) Compton who survives. In addition to her work, Peggy enjoyed reading and flowers. She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, and brothers : Frank, Lee, Tommy and Fred Reavis and sisters: Maude Cress, Ina Benge and Patricia Neal

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Jack Reavis of Lillington, N.C., two sisters, Bertha Ellis of Catawba and Angelene Wooten of Vale, N.C., a step daughter, Kelli Compton of Huntersville and a sister-in-law, Carolyn J. Krueck.

Services celebrating Peggy's life will be conducted at 11:00 Thursday at Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Snipes officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
