

He was born December 4, 1932, in Iredell County and was the son of the late Everette and Rebecca Freeland Perry. He was a correctional officer with the State of North Carolina and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Perry preceded in death on May 23, 1978, by his first wife, Christine Bennett Perry.
on July 10, 1981 he married Jerrellyn Page, who survives.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jerrellyn Page Perry, whom he married on July 10, 1981; two sons, David Perry and Douglas Perry; a daughter, Linda Cook all of Statesville; his children by marriage, Phillip Jones and Dale Jones both of Florida, and Lynn Atwell of Terrell; a sister, Fannie Mae Grantham of Colorado; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Landmark Church of God with the Revs Kenneth Hudson and B.N. Black officiating. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens with full military rites being accordded by Iredell County Veterans Council Burial Detail
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
