

Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he was recognized with a military commendation in 1985 for his role in a US-Canadian rescue operation.
An avid fisherman and bowler, Robert was also very involved in his community. He was both an International Boy Scout Leader and a youth sports coach.
He was known as a jokester and as someone who had a lot of compassion for others and who was always willing to help. But mostly, he was known for his dedication to his family.
He is survived by his mother, Violet Gullett; his wife, Joan Gullett, of the home; his son, Wesley Gullett (Samantha), of Greensboro; his daughter, Laura Holcombe (Chad), of Harmony; his brothers, Jack Loren Gullett, Donald Gullett, and Larry Gullett; his sister, Sandra Bottomly; his grandchildren, Payton, Maedin, Lucas, Addison, Emily, Gaige, Cylis, Ethan, and Nicholas; as well as a plethora of bonus grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Monroe Gullett, and his brother, Gary Douglas Gullett.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 16th at Guilford College United Methodist Church, 1205 Fleming Rd, Greensboro North Carolina, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Youth Bowling Program at Pla Mor Lanes, located at 2505 Davie Avenue, Statesville, North Carolina, 28625.
