
He was born January 14, 1921, in Iredell County and was the son of the late Charles C. and Emma Combs Morrison. He was a life-long member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and a retired maintenance supervisor from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp where he served in the South Pacific during World War II. He enjoyed bowling and was formerly a member of a bowling league for many years. He was a loving husband and great father and Pawpaw.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.
Watt is survived by his wife of 67 years, Annie Lucille Waugh “Nook” Morrison, whom he married on June 28, 1942; two daughters, Bobbi Fox (John H.) and Pat Webb (John Stephen), both of Statesville; five grandchildren, Michael Webb (Amy) of Taylorsville, Scott Webb (Angie) of Greenville, NC, Kellie Thompson (Russell) of Troutman, Carey Fox (Holly) of Statesville, and Brian Fox (Shelly) of Davidson; and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services celebrating Watt’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery with his grandson, Carey Fox, giving the eulogy.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service on Wednesday, and at other times will be assembled at the home of his daughter, Pat Webb, 1104 Mocksville Highway, Statesville.
