Ronnie Lee Kimmer Sr., born on July 14, 1953, passed away on February 15, 2026, at the age of 72. Ronnie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who was not just "Dad," but also a friend and mentor to his family. He was married to Donna Marie Taylor Kimmer for 54 years, and together they built a loving family.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Tross Thomas Kimmer Sr. , his sister, Carol Stroud as well as one great grandchild. He is survived by his wife, Donna, and their children: Angie Smutz and her husband David of Harmony, North Carolina; Ronnie Lee Kimmer Jr. of Cleveland, North Carolina; and Jody Kimmer of Advance, North Carolina. Ronnie leaves behind his grandchildren: David Smutz Jr., Dawson Smutz, Samantha Kimmer, Ronnie Lee Kimmer III, Makayla Lynn Kruchten, Dominic DeStephanis, and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Osa Marie Honeycutt Kimmer, his brothers: Anthony Kimmer, Tross Kimmer Jr and Keith Kimmer, his sisters Renae Richard, and Joy McCallister.
Ronnie worked in the refrigeration field from a young age, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication throughout his career. He was a man of faith who loved the Lord and had a passion for golfing, NASCAR, cooking, and bowling. Known for his problem-solving skills, Ronnie had a unique ability to make everyone laugh, leaving a lasting legacy of joy and warmth.
A receiving of friends will be held at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville, North Carolina, on February 23, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery, 403 Barry Oak Road, Statesville, North Carolina.
Ronnie will be laid to rest at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery in Statesville, where his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
