

He was born Jan. 8, 1925, in Wilkes County, the son of the late Lide Anderson and the late Cindy Mariah Call Anderson. He was a kind and gentle spirit who didn't know a stranger. He retired from Acme Metal Slide and worked at Gillam Furniture.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Anderson in 2015, and a granddaughter, Angela Anderson in 1977. He was also preceded by three sisters and nine brothers.
He is survived by his son, Grady Anderson of Statesville and daughter, Judy Loomis of Harmony; one brother; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and Adam Stanly, who he helped raise.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow Friday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m., in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor John Erwin officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
