Ruby Lowery Fitzwater

Mrs. Ruby Lowery Fitzwater, 94, passed away on Monday May 2, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Fitzwater lived in Ft. Myers Beach, Fla. for many years before moving to Statesville. She was originally from West Virginia, having been born there on February 17, 1917. She was a daughter of the late David Eugene Lowery and Maggie Fulton Lowery. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Larry Fitzwater and Thomas P. Hill, a sister, Polly Grogan and two brothers, Kenneth and Fred Lowery.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Thomas P. Hill and his wife, Shirley of Pennsylvania and David L. Hill and his wife, Tonya of Statesville. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Helen Lowery of California, two grandchildren, Pamela Snow and Matthew L. Hill along with five great gradchildren: Rose Snow, Kevin, Ryan and Gwendolyn Hill and Cammie Clark.
