Ruth S. Morrow, 90, of Stony Point, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. A native of Davie County, North Carolina, she was born in a tent to the late Albert Ray and Elsie Mae Bowman Sigmon. She was a member of the Broad Street Church of Christ. For most of working life, she was the owner of M. J. Morrow’s Grocery and Sharon Supermarket. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, M. J. Morrow, and by her brothers Billy Roy Sigmon and James Ray Sigmon.
Ruth is survived by her son Roger Morrow and his wife Jane of Statesville; by her daughter, Lisa Morrow of Stony Point; by grandchildren, Alexandra Paige Morrow of Stony Point and Amber Christine Morrow of Statesville; by her sisters, Lois Sharpe of Stony Point, Jean Johnson of Stony Point, and Elaine Johnson and her husband Melvin of Statesville. A host of friends and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating Ruth’s life will be held at Broad Street Church of Christ on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Dave Wood and Steve Short officiating. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
