

Mr. Samuel Rick Gregory, known as Rick, 60, of Statesville, died Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte. Born in Iredell County on July 24, 1952, he was a son of the late John Samuel Gregory and Frances Elliott Gregory. Rick was the owner and operator of R. Gregory Jewelers. He served in the National Guard and was a member of Western Ave. Baptist Church where he was active with the London Bridges Mission. He was also a Gideon and a well respected businessman since opening his business in 1981. He loved what he did and working with people. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eric and John Gregory.
On September 17, 1977, he married the former Pamela Brown who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Gregory Clendenin and her husband Matthew of Statesville and their children, Emma and Sam, a step daughter, Lori Rhodes and her husband, Rodney of Statesville and their children, Cody, Katelyn and Macy, and a step son, Robert Deal and his wife, Jill of Hickory, and their chldren, Hayden and Garrett. Also surviving are a brother, Rodney Gregory of Salisbury and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Services celebrating Rick's life will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday June 11, 2013 at Western Ave. Baptist Church with Dr. Skip Cartin and Rev. Henry Cook officiating.
