Sallie was born in Romney W. Virginia on October 28, 1928, to the late James and Ruth Kinnick Shull. Sallie spent most of her childhood in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where she met her husband, B.B. Baker. Together they raised four children: Sheri, Bonnie, Jimmy and John. The family moved to Statesville in 1959, and Sallie worked at Hunt Manufacturing for a few years before taking a position with the Statesville Police Department, where she served as secretary to the detectives. I was saddened to hear of Sally's passing. She was always a pleasure to be with. One of my fondest memories was when she took the Red Hots Red Hat Group to Birkdale Theater to see Christmas with the Kranks. I will miss the "Duchess of Romney."
Also, she was so proud of her special pin hat.
May you find comfort in knowing others care.
