

He was born February 14, 1919 in Iredell County to Rufus Carter Jenkins and Johnsey Morrison Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his wife Esteline Pope Jenkins and daughter Brenda Jenkins Morrow (Sam); by two brothers, Farrell and Hal Jenkins; six sisters, Mrs. Rachel Gray, Mrs. Doris Campbell, Mrs. Helen Johnson, Mrs. Alma Cook, Mrs. Virginia Ammon and Mrs. Irene Massey.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by three children; Perry W. Jenkins (Sonja) of Statesville, Peggy J. Alexander (Dean), of Statesville, Ellen J. Snead (Emmett) of Fredericksburg, VA and son-in-law Sam Morrow of Statesville; ten grandchildren; Wendy Morrow Bentley (Blue) of Statesville, Chris Morrow of Dallas, TX, Annette Alexander Jenkins (Bart) of Mocksville, Kelly Jenkins Cockeram (Erick) of Statesville, Karmen Jenkins Davidson (Shane) of Aspen, CO, Chad Alexander (Melissa) of Hiddenite, Kendra Jenkins Cockeran (Shannon) of Statesville, Jessica Savannah and Emmalyn Snead of Fredericksburg, VA. He was blessed with 12 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by one brother, Joe Jenkins (Lillian) of Stony Point and two sisters, Mrs. Bernice McKowan of Statesville and Mrs. Betty Beaver of Statesville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26 at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at New Sterling ARP Church with The Rev. Tim Watson officiating.
Pallbearers will include Chris Morrow, Chad Alexander, Blue Bentley, Erick Cockeram, Bart Jenkins, Shane Davidson and Shannon Cockeran.
