William Thomas Cardwell, 99, formerly of Charlotte, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023, in Statesville, North Carolina. He was born in Polk County, Florida, to Clifton Ernest Cardwell and Mary Lillian Miller. Mr. Cardwell was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Bonnie Jean Conrad Cardwell.
He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Cousar, and her husband, Don, of Statesville; grandchildren, Kenny Cousar, and Karen Osborne; nine great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Cardwell.
Mr. Cardwell served in the US Army Air Forces during WWII. He then continued his military service for over 35 years, ultimately retiring in 1984, from the Air National Guard, as a Chief Master Sergeant.
A graveside service, with military honors, will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Charlotte Memorial Gardens, in Charlotte, North Carolina, with Pastor Kenny Cousar officiating.
