

Mrs. Wilma "Bill" Stewart Morrison, 98, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Hospice Home of Alamance, surrounded by her family. She was born in Iredell County on July 11,1916, to the late David Little Stewart and Bertha Mae Travis Stewart. She was married to the late Clay Brown Morrison of Iredell County for 52 years and they resided in Harmony, N.C. Bill will be remembered for her love of family, flowers, sewing and her beloved mountain cabin. She and her late husband were long time members of Forest Park Presbyterian Church in Statesville.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Captain Clayton Dale Morrison, U. S. Coast Guard, of Birmingham, Alabama, four sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Joanie M. Tolley and her husband, Jerry of Elon, a brother, J.V. Stewart of Newton, two sisters, Cathy S. Vaughn ( Silas) of Montreat, N.C. and Carrie S. Beard (Rev. Robert) of Mooresville, N.C. Also surviving are grandchildren: Kelly Jo Morrison of Birmingham, Al., Robin Martin (David) of Birmingham, Al., Dale Morrison (Brenda) of Mobile, Al, Jay Tolley (Hope) of Burlington, N.C. and Justin Tolley (Gina) of Burlington, N.C. Also nine great grandchildren: Karla King, Sarah and Rachel Martin, Dale and Brandon Morrison, Julian and Carson Tolley and Jackson and Emerson Tolley as well as beloved nieces, nephews and mountain friends Geoff Long and Tim Beach and family.
Services celebrating "Bill"s life will be conducted at 2:00 Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Forest Park Presbyterian Church with Rev. Scott Jeffreys and Rev. Robert Q. Beard officiating. Private burial will precede the service in Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the church following the service.
