Yvonne Marjorie LaBonte Cloer

Yvonne spent years working in textiles and retired after a long season of steady, hard work—work she didn’t just do, but genuinely loved. There was a quiet pride in the way she showed up day after day, giving her best with the same dependable spirit she brought to every part of life.

She was married to Bobby Cloer for 17 years, and he preceded her in death. Through the years, Yvonne’s devotion to family was constant—expressed not in grand displays, but in the everyday ways she cared, listened, and put others first.

A woman of faith, Yvonne loved the Lord and lived that love with open hands. She was devoted to mission work, especially through Blood and Fire Mission in Atlanta, Georgia, 5th Street Ministries in Statesville, North Carolina, and Mission House Ministries in Stony Point, North Carolina. Her kindness was practical and sincere—faith that moved beyond words and into service.

Yvonne found joy outdoors and in the simple beauty of growing things. She loved to fish, to be out-of-doors, and to spend time gardening among flowers. She also enjoyed traveling, carrying her steady curiosity and gentle appreciation wherever she went.

She loved her animals, particularly Bambi—whom she lost several years ago—and Frack, her “lapcat,” even as she insisted she “didn’t like cats.” In that small, familiar contradiction was something tender and true: a heart that made room for love, whether she meant to or not.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul LaBonte, Sr.; her mother, Dorothy LaBonte; her husband, Bobby Cloer; her brothers, Michael LaBonte, Paul LaBonte, Jr., Jim LaBonte, and Jackie LaBonte; and her sisters, Rose Lyles, Peggy LaBonte, Angie LaBonte, and Gloria LaBonte.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Stone of Statesville, North Carolina; her brother, Tom LaBonte of Texas; and her grandsons, Joshua Scott Stone (Rebecca) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Christopher Lewis Stone, also of Charlotte.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at The Redeemer's House, 8200 NC-90, Stony Point, North Carolina 28678. A receiving of friends will also be held on Saturday, from 1:00 pm until the service begins at 2:00 pm, at The Redeemer's House
