

Elizabeth, known to family and friends as Ann, was born in Pennington Gap, Virginia, to Sarah J. Baber and Charles M. Baber Sr. on February 10th, 1937. Ann grew up in Pennington Gap, Verona, Mt. Sidney and Staunton. She moved to Fairfax County in her twenties and spent more than 40 years of her professional career working for the Fairfax County Health Department. In her spare time, she enjoyed raising dogs, especially Maltese, oil painting, reading her Bible, and going for long rides through the countryside. She was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ and occasionally attended Heart of the Home.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her first husband, Lade Timis, her brothers, Charles Baber Jr, and William Baber; as well as her son-in-law, Rodney Butler.
Elizabeth is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Ronald Lee Baptie of New Market, VA; her son, James Donald Timis of Kila, MT; her daughter, Sarah Dell Timis of New Market, VA; grandchildren, Chardee Timis, Amber Brenden, Aaron Lucas, and Zack Timis. She is also survived by great granddaughters, Whitlee and Brylee, a sister-in-law, Mary Baber; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 5th, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Buz Menhardt officiating. Burial will follow at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 4th, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
