Heidi Lynn Pokusa Painter

Heidi Lynn Pokusa Painter of Las Cruces, NM and of hometown Staunton, VA passed away from this earth on Sun. morning, Dec. 22 at the age of 54. She was a believer in God and talked about Him readily.

Heidi was born in Waynesboro, VA on July 25, 1970. She is the daughter of Stan Edward Pokusa, Sr. of Staunton and the late Linda Anne Via Pokusa Brown of Staunton.

She is survived by four children, Blake Curtis Huffman, Spencer Steven Varner, Haley Olivia Painter, and Connor Riley Painter. Her former late husband was Bobby Painter of Crimora, VA. She is also survived by her sister Kimberly Dawn Pokusa Lackner, her brother Stan Edward Pokusa, II, and her sister Angela Renee Shifflett Morris. She is also survived by Sue Via Hoover Siron, her aunt, and cousins Tony Shifflett, Don Hoover, Brian Shifflett, Jason Corbett, all of Augusta County, and Deirdre Dutton Metcalf of Chicago,

along with nieces and nephews, all of which she loved dearly, as did we all love her.

Heidi attended Buffalo Gap High School and worked at various locations in Staunton and Waynesboro.

She was a true lover of all animals.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the SPCA of Augusta County.

A memorial service to commemorate Heidi will be held on Fri., Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 18 W. Frederick St., Staunton.
