Janet Nutt Lembke

Janet was a graduate of Hathaway Brown, Ohio and Middlebury College, Vermont, where she majored in Latin and Greek. She was the author of 20 books and currently had been writing another. As a teacher, Janet held memoire and creative writing classes locally. She was an avid gardener and cook and enjoyed sharing her passions with others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Hannah; husband, Adrian Stanley; sister, Virginia Leonard.

Survivors include siblings, Robert Nutt and wife, Mary Beirne, Joe Nutt and his friend, Betty Black Leslie and Sarah Jane Nutt Hovsepian; children, Peter Lembke, Charley Lembke and wife, Deborah Schrishuhn, Lisa Lembke and husband, Paul Neblock; six grandchildren and their families.

Following cremation, a private scattering will be held at the family’s discretion but friends and family are invited to celebrate memories at her home at any time.

In lieu of flowers, Janet requested donations be made to Augusta Health Hospice or Prison Justice.
